Bren Davidson - My journey with Lifestyle Health and Fitness
My journey commenced by joining Lifestyle Health and Fitness in May 2015. I was 80kg and unhappy. I had put on 20kgs over two years due to poor diet and lack of exercise. As a busy mum of two young girls I was feeling constantly exhausted. I knew something had to change and I knew that I was the only person that had the power to make that change. I was driven by needing to change for myself and my girls and I had a 25th wedding anniversary in May 2016 that I wanted to be able to wear a nice dress to and feel good.
I started off in the gym with one of the personal trainers Sue, who showed me safe exercise practises. I did some work on the treadmill, some leg work and also attended the occasional Thai Fit class taken by Jo-Ann Saffioti. Within six months of joining the gym it went into liquidation and closed down. Luckily, Jo-Ann kept Thai Fit classes running out of Awaken Church and I attended those classes. I quickly grew to love the classes and I still love them to this day.
Soon after that I tracked Jo-Ann down and asked her to become my personal trainer. I would not be where I am today without her expertise in personal training and her belief in my ability to succeed. Amie and Emma re-opened Lifestyle gym last month, and the new gym is awesome. I attend a wide variety of training in the gym, from Ride to Step to small group training in Results HQ, but my favourite thing of all is Thai Fit. I love it!
I love going to Lifestyle and meeting with all the members. We all support and look out for each other, we are like one big family. I have never felt the support that I feel at any other gym. I have found my home.
I started at Lifestyle gym at 79.5 kg and last weekend at my wedding anniversary I weighed 65 kg. I have lost 14.5kg in the last four months. I have trained hard with dedication and drive, with the combination of a fantastic gym and wonderful personal trainer. Jo got my mindset right and driven me to achieve my goals.
I am now focussed on my holistic good health, being mentally and physically fit. I am hugely thankful to Lifestyle Health and Fitness and to Jo, who I believe is the best personal trainer in the Wellington District. I cannot thank you all enough for what you have helped me acheive.
